speed 15The Land Use Committee reviews and considers development proposals, permits and zoning ordinances, increasing public awareness of our environment and neighborhood. Another committee goal is to organize efforts in dealing with transportation issues such as traffic, public transportation, pedestrians and cyclists, and to find educational tools and programs to help our roads stay safe.

As 1 of 9 stakeholders and 11 directors on the WPTMA board, we work to ensure sensible management of transportation issues and responsible use of the parking meter revenue collected in Washington Park for the Parks benefit (like the free intra-Park shuttle). Portland Comprehensive Plan

The City of Portland is updating its Comprehensive Plan, a long-range 20-year plan that sets the framework for the physical development of the city. Portland originally developed its Comprehensive Plan in 1980; periodic updates of the plan are mandated by the State of Oregon.
